TERRESTRIAL LASER SCANNER

BIM methodology

The laser scanner has established itself as the essential technology for the most demanding projects, displacing traditional topography thanks to its capacity to perform massive and millimetric captures of the as-built environment. To ensure that no detail is missed, our highly qualified team carries out surveys of millions of points, thus creating exact virtual spaces for sectors such as design, architecture, civil engineering, and the naval industry, among others.

This workflow generates a high-density 3D point cloud that provides an exact geometric replica, known as a “Digital Twin“, allowing the real state of any infrastructure to be documented with total certainty before starting construction works.

This geometric fidelity is the starting point of the Scan-to-BIM (Building Information Modeling) process, allowing this vast amount of information to be transferred into an intelligent 3D model that facilitates teamwork, helps detect errors before building, and simplifies future maintenance throughout the asset’s entire life cycle. The standardization of this work environment is so critical that its implementation is already a regulatory requirement in public tendering, officially driven by Royal Decree 1515/2018 published in the BOE (Official State Gazette).
